I sat down to write an epic and hilarious love poem one Sunday afternoon…and came up with this, instead.
It’s that time of year again; daffodils are appearing in the shops, even though spring is still a couple of months away. So, in light of that, here’s a poem about spring’s prettiest blooms.
Daffodil
Oh, daffodil
so clean and bright,
leaning right into the light;
you make me happy –
spring has come
and lighter evenings have begun.
You cheer me up
and, when in bloom,
illuminate my living room,
reminding me
of better days
spent basking in the sun’s warm rays.
But, alas,
your life is fleeting
thanks to my damn central heating.
Oh I love this! Daffodils are my favourite and signifies sunshine for me xx

Thank you so much! Yes, I think they’re definitely underrated. I’m sad they’re only around for a short while.
