I use this data to assess the success and popularity of my writing and the content on my website to inform future decisions and pieces of work. Again, this is managed by Automattic. Subscribers & interactions

Automattic collects certain information from visitors to WordPress sites like this one, such as follower and subscriber details. It also collects certain information automatically, such as technical data (including IP address and browser type) and visitor interactions (including “likes”). This information is used to run the Site and analyse Site performance.

You have the option to subscribe to or ‘follow’ my blog on WordPress, which means you will be notified when a new blog post goes live so that you never miss any content. I do not collect details of who follows my blog and will not use this information to contact followers or subscribers. The list of followers and subscribers is located in the WordPress dashboard and I do not actively save these. You have the option to unsubscribe/unfollow whenever you want to and to be removed from this list, and to stop recieving notifications.

Commenting

Commenting on my blog posts is also powered by WordPress/Automattic. You may need to submit your name, web address and email to submit a comment. This information will not be passed on, accessed, saved or used by me. Advertising is also controlled by WordPress/Automattic, and is out of my control as I have chosen to have my site hosted for free by WordPress.com.
