It’s World Book Day!
A whole day dedicated to the wonder of the written word.
Books are probably the love of my life (something I wrote about last year!) so I couldn’t let today go past without sharing a little something.
Here’s a fun little poem I wrote specifically in celebration of World Book Day (inspired rather by the marvelous Brian Bilston). I hope you like it.
Atlas
A portal to all other places,
countries, oceans, and airspaces,
this paper-based predecessor
to Encarta and Wikipedia,
now sits, dusty, lost in time,
replaced by all of what’s online.
But we should never overlook
the value of a big world book.
