Happy birthday to Jo Fisher Writes!

One whole year ago today I pressed publish on my first blog post in over twelve months, and started writing properly again.

I am so proud of this little writing space. It may not be the sleekest, or the most popular, but unlike my previous venture into the blogosphere, Jo Fisher Writes has stayed true to my true loves: books, films, culture, creative writing (and occasionally food!).

This space – this hobby – has given me so many brilliant opportunities. I’ve been able to write about some wonderful books, attend theatre and music performances, enjoyed restaurant launches and met some brilliant people. I’ve dipped my toe into publishing poetry, shared my creative writing pieces, and have even attempted to review films and TV shows.

I like to think that those of you who do read my writing really do enjoy what you find on this site, and that you get something out of it – be that advice, reassurance, entertainment or inspiration.

I value each and every one of you who takes the time to read my ramblings; commenting, sharing, liking or following. It means a lot to me. I can’t tell you what a wonderful feeling it is when someone tells me they enjoyed my last post.

THANK YOU so much.

So what’s next? Well, I have my eyes on a pretty new redesign and I hope to get better at the presentation-side of things. I am already working to improve my photography and social media skills, and have a very long to do list! Not forgetting the fact that I want to write more creative pieces, book and theatre reviews, and personal thought posts. Watch this space!
